BREAKFAST//
Somebody was in a silly mood at breakfast today. It was a nice way to start the day! +PJT
A DUCK NAMED DONALD//

“You know what’s weird? Donald Duck never wore pants. But whenever he’s getting out of the shower, he always puts a towel around his waist. I mean, what is that about?” -Chandler Bing He’s right? What is that about? Isaac is starting to understand the entertainment that is the television (for better or worse). This [...]
THEN & NOW //

Exactly one year ago from the posting of this post, Isaac James Towle came screaming into this world… well, maybe not screaming as the following 2 weeks were spent in the NICU helping his lungs get fully developed. Here’s the post from that day that feels oh, so long ago… THEN// Born: May 6, 2009 [...]
REFLECTIONS//

It’s no hidden fact that I love my son. The doctor told me yesterday that she “loves seeing dads treat their kids that way” (the way I was being so affectionate to my sick son). GREAT! They notice! I thought. Maybe I AM qualified for this job (which no one truly is). So, if I [...]
CHRISTMAS AS AN ADOPTIVE DAD//

There are things that just change the way you live… Moving, new jobs, getting married… These are change a lot of things, but kids… seem to have the power beyond them all. I’d always wanted to be a dad, but 12 months about I had no idea what it would actually mean. Sure I expected [...]
SOOTHING SOUNDS AT CHRISTMAS//
So yesterday, just like every Monday Isaac stays with me as I work from home. This is what happened: +PJT
LIKE FATHER. like son. //

There’s a beautiful spiritual connection between fathers and son. Every son, whose dad is around, wants to be like his dad some how. I did. My dad was a cop. He stood for what was right. He was honest. He had guns. He hunted. He was handy. He was a manly man. I still want [...]
OH MY, HOW TIME FLIES…
This evening after we both came home from work and before I had to jet out to rehearsal… (did I just use the term “jet?” Hey the 50′s called… they want their slang back!) we were sitting on the bed and Angie was holding Isaac. She said, “I don’t remember what he was like when [...]
EVER FEEL LIKE LIFE DOESN'T STOP?
… Well, that’s because it doesn’t. As much as we might like for it to, it won’t. Time ticks on. We get older. It’s just what happens. Maybe it’s because I’m a man… or maybe it’s because I’m younger than Angie is, but it doesn’t bother me that I’m in my “late 20s” anywhere near [...]
HOW OFFICE DAYS HAVE CHANGED//
I now have 2 monitors running at all times … I can’t play my music as loud … I can’t just pack up and head to Starbucks to work … I guess I can, but it takes a lot longer and I don’t get as much done there. I wouldn’t change it though!
FATHERHOOD//
I had this thought the other day. I’m a dad now. Not in the sense of a “daddy-o” (apparently, 60′s jazz lingo is making a comeback). But, in the sense of it’s now after 1am and I’m simultaneously watching TV and a baby monitor. It’s still very surreal. We’ve only been home for the hospital [...]
